House of Bankerd
Mission: House of Bankerd, Inc. provides opportunities for local artists and audiences to experience quality art in the Baltimore area, guides the artistic community toward local resources to enhance their artistic experiences, and facilitates artistic educational opportunities in the community.
House of Bankerd, Inc. provides opportunities for local artists and audiences to experience quality art in the Baltimore area by making resources available to community arts organizations so that they may produce quality productions. House of Bankerd, Inc. offers resources at little or no cost to non-profit community arts organizations. These resources are provided through the Baltimore Costume Library, the ASL Assistance Program, and Guerrilla Theatre Front.
Baltimore Costume Library contains an inventory of various costumes and accessories. Arts organizations that are 501(c)(3) organizations may borrow the items needed for their productions using a sliding scale fee structure based on their organizational budget.
The ASL Assistance Program provides grant money to organizations so that they may hire professional American Sign Language interpreters to interpret a performance of their production and make it assessable to the deaf community.
Guerrilla Theatre Front is a group responsible for producing quality theatrical opportunities which are artistically driven and collaborative throughout the community.
House of Bankerd, Inc. guides the artistic community toward local resources to enhance their artistic experiences by providing a community discussion forum where the artistic community can post their needs and questions. Other members of the community may reply with answers and solutions. This is accomplished primarily by posting local arts events on its Facebook page to be shared in the community. We produce a podcast, House of Bankerd’s State of the Arts Podcast, where community artists talk about upcoming projects and the “state of the arts” in Baltimore.
House of Bankerd, Inc. facilitates artistic educational opportunities in the community by providing workshops and masterclasses to the local Baltimore community. These programs will be offered for a small fee or free to the community at both the adult and youth level.
